Junior Progressive Tennis

For kids ages 3.5-10, Progressive Tennis introduces children to tennis in a way that is fun, interactive, and creates a solid foundation for success. Using modified tennis balls, racquets, nets and court sizes, young players are appropriately equipped so they can enjoy rallying and learning the fundamentals of the game. Our methods develop essential skills more quickly than traditional methods, allowing for a smooth transition to full court tennis.

Red Ball 7 and under

Red Ball classes are for children ages 7 and under. The children play on a smaller court (doubles line to doubles line) with shorter racquets and softer balls. This program focuses on teaching players to cooperate in pairs and small groups, which helps set the foundation for developing the rally skills necessary to excel in tennis at a later age. Children also learn basic technical skills such as groundstrokes, volleys and serves.

We offer a Monday/Wednesday option, a Tuesday/Thursday option, and you can choose Friday as either a third option or a standalone option for parents who want to register their children for a once per week program.

Orange Ages 7-9

Orange Ball classes are for children aged 7 - 9. They play on a court that’s about 75% the size of a regular tennis court and use modified racquets and balls. This program builds on the rally skills developed in the Red Ball Program while transitioning players to a larger court. There is greater focus on technical development such as the introduction of spin to all strokes.

Orange Weekend

These programs take place on the weekends for players who want to introduce themselves to the game of tennis and are unsure if they want to go down a competitive pathway. Players do not need to have completed the Red Ball programs to participate.

Orange Ball

This program runs Monday - Friday, with a minimum commitment of two days per week to join. Players who want to be more competitive can register up to all five days. Physical development is also built into this program.

Green Ball Ages 8-10

The Green Ball class is the final stage of the Progressive Tennis Program and is for children aged 8 - 10. They play on a full-sized tennis court but use modified balls that have 85 - 90% the compression of regular tennis balls, giving them more time to get set up for the ball and execute their stroke. The focus of this program is to solidify the technique and tactics developed in the Red and Orange Ball programs and prepare players to transition to full-court tennis.
